MARC Penn Line - March 16 schedule change
MARC Penn Line schedules will change March 16, 2026 with the completion of a major Amtrak trackwork project in New Jersey. Amtrak will return to normal weekday service, which will require MARC Train to modify our schedules. Most schedules are going back to the times that were in effect before the February 16 - March 13 special interim schedule, but there are additional modifications. Printed copies of the new timetable will be available soon. Passengers are strongly encouraged to download a PDF copy of the new timetable now at www.mta.maryland.gov/Penn_March16_change . Please carefully review train departure times, ***especially southbound morning trains to Washington -- many of them will operate EARLIER*** A full list of the March 16 changes is provided on the MTA website, https://www.mta.maryland.gov/Penn_March16_change , including a discussion about the more significant changes to morning southbound Train 511. Light Rail Service Advisory - Single Tracking
Light Rail will single track trains between Camden Yards Station and North Avenue stations on Saturday March 14, 2026, and Sunday, March 15, 2026, to conduct rail replacement. Regular Light Rail train service will resume on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. Track 1 heading Southbound towards Glen Burnie/Cromwell and BWI Marshall Airport will be closed and riders will need to board and exit on Track 2 heading Northbound towards Hunt Valley at Convention Center, Baltimore Arena, Lexington Market, Mt Vernon, Cultural Center and Mt. Royal/MICA. Please allow for extra travel time between Convention Center, Baltimore Arena, Lexington Market, Mt Vernon, Cultural Center and Mt. Royal/MICA stops. MARC Camden, Brunswick, and Penn Lines - Severe Weather Expected this afternoon
Based on current local weather forecasts, severe weather is projected to occur during service this afternoon and this evening. Severe weather can result in multiple types of warnings and speed restrictions that CSX or Amtrak may deem necessary to issue. With all warnings, (Flash Flood, Wind, etc.) comes speed restrictions and delays of 20-25 minutes are common. These restrictions are issued to ensure you have a safe ride to your destination. Downed trees are also a possibility, which will result in lengthier delays and possibly temporary suspension of service. We will provide updates as needed to keep you informed and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding with any delays that result.
